She's back!!!!!!!!!!!!!


OK, OK ... obviously I have taken a fall. I even have proof- see it here? Not the kind of fall I was referring to though ... the lovely bruise on the right was caused by tripping over my big feet, in heels, whilst staying with a friend who had a fancy teak doormat. Ouch. I don't recommend that combination!

The real lapse has been in my let down ... I've been logging my food, watching calories, getting my workouts in ... but nonetheless feeling a bit of malaise. Not very happy on the job front, although good things are happening now ... definitely not content on the homefront either. I do remind myself, however, how lucky I feel to have such good friends around me. Just seemed like these past few weeks nothing could really inspire me to see the good things down the road that surely are going to happen for me.

So, what did I do? I started out the weekend by NOT going to NC to spend the week at the beach with the family. Not enough room ... and they didn't really include me, although Mom and Dad did try to convince me to crash on an air mattress in their room. (Offer duplicated to my nieces and nephews as well!) The real decision came down to the fact that it would have ended up costing me a minimum of $500 ... and if I'm going to spend that much, well, dammit, I'd rather spend it on a new entry level road bike, a personal trainer to give me some pointers, or simply spend it on paying off a credit card bill so that the zero balance I covet is here more quickly than my current plan. So, Em and I watched Mamma Mia! on Friday afternoon- fun chick flick!

Today I did it all ... I moved the furniture around in my bedroom and managed to burn 2000 calories by the sheer effort of packing/cleaning/schlepping! Yippee! Then I rode my bike to the Y where I swam 400 yards. (Alternating free style with breast stroke). And I challenged myself to do it without stopping ... mission accomplished!
